Water tank overflow juggad
Built this solution for my overhead water tank overflow problem. I wanted the solution to be simple but wanted to be able to plug in/out whever required. There were other float based sensors available which had to be installed inside the water tank and which provided some on/off capability. This did not fit my defintion of simple and low maintainence.
Post my research on this, I felt the Tapo water sensor Tapo T300 was the correct tool for this job. It is as the name suggests a “water sensor”. I added the periphals ie a old rain gutter lying around to get the water to the sensor. The visuals are not polished but it does the job perfectly. This sensor connects to the Tapo Hub where i have configured a alarm sound to be played every time water is detected. The Tapo Hub stays inside the house whereas the actual sensor on the terrace. The bucket is used to collect the water and then drain that out.
Below is a live working video link. The alarm sound which you here in the video is from the sensor and not from the Tapo Hub.
